The following is an example training plan with courses pertaining to the board game Betrayal at House on the Hill. Outlined are the first courses, lessons, and content to teach explorers comprehensive gameplay.

Board Pieces

Interactive Content:

Provide a diagram of game pieces. Each unique piece is clickable and displays a brief, two-sentence description.

Video:

Demonstrate setting up the game, including where to place starting tiles, shuffled decks, dice, room tiles, and haunt-specific pieces.

Explain different character cards, including an explanation of individual explorer strengths, and how to determine them. Demonstrate how to place indicator sliders at their starting values.

List the physical and mental traits (four total) in a dropdown layout so learners reveal information about each trait one at a time.

Discuss what players can do on their turn.

Show players how to discover new rooms, using visual examples to demonstrate how room tiles may be placed and where. Also, reiterate when a player’s turn ends based on events or running out of movement.
